Faith & The Long View
Lady Knight of St. Mulumba
"I pray for Nigeria. I pray for the grandchildren. I pray that they go further than we did, and remember why."
She is a Lady Knight of St. Mulumba, a member of the Madonna Sisters, and a fixture in more church organizations than most parishes have pews. Her faith is not a Sunday faith. It is a 5 a.m. faith, a rosary-in-the-pocket faith, a faith that has been tested and stayed.
She prays, often, for the state of Nigeria, for better governance, for clearer leadership, for the country she wants her grandchildren to inherit. And she prays that those grandchildren will rise even higher than their parents have, and carry the same compass into rooms she will never see.
She is still here. Still watching. Still keeping the standard. Still loving her way.
